Jim Graniela worked with ASPIRA and created a 3 camera live switching TV studio with 3 Final Cut editing bays from equipment donated by Panasonic of America and PeaceHawks™. Once the student realized that Words and Ideas are more powerful than gun and knives, the first lesson taught by Jim, they dove in head first and created commercials and documentary that aired on the East coast.

Hostile Streets; ASPIRA is Hope


ASPIRA of New Jersey is a refuse in a storm. Located on Broad Street in Newark, New Jersey, the second poorest city in the United State this institution provides a safe haven for the the city's besieged youth. Offering after school programs ASPIRA using its staff, resources and nominal budget is a beacon for Urban America's forgotten poor. An alternative to the violence of gangs, drugs and indifference of government ASPIRA is one way out and up for these youngster in desperate search for a better life.
