Penn South is a mutual re-development housing coop located in Chelsea, Manhattan. This little green emerald in the center of the Manhattan, New York, has managed not to fulfill its contract with the City of New York via a Board of Directors who have consolidated their strangle hold on the members of the Board of Directors. Vera Feingold and her organization, Voices of Penn South valiantly fought to democratize the governance at Penn South so its members could enjoy the benefits of affordable house and the rights of ownership of their property against the communist ideology of the ACC who are in complete control. Like the book Animal Farm the leadership at Penn South affords themselves and their friends benefits while denying empowerment to the lower economic members of the coop.
PeaceHawks™ is no stranger to community action. In its attempt to fight the grip of the ACC at Penn South co-op in Chelsea, Voices of Penn South turned to us to make for airing spots promoting their candidate, Vera Feingold. An up hill battle all the way Voices of Penn South went against Goliath with theses industrials.
