An annual event treasured by the local children who count the day until it comes again. Complete with a farris wheel and the Italian sausage street vender the smells and sounds are irresistible.
With best friends in hand and cotton candy spread from cheek to cheek the kids traverse the one block fair as if it were miles long. Oh to ride on the dragon roller coaster again and again squealing with delight is the ninth wonder of the world. And let's not forget the running, skipping and queuing and trading thrills with your new friend and old and all the stories told.
Who can't remember the trill of a street fair. It is a touch of the country right here in metropolis and sometimes you get to see the bearded lady. Well, maybe not now a days but, the thrill and the shrills still remain. Especially for my daughter and nephew. Come take a stroll down the street and see the magic at your feet.
