Dreams Deferred                   Langston Hughes

Langston Hughes

What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
Like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore--
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over--
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?

Dreams

"Ah the pity youth is wasted on the young." Well, I doubt that it is wasted. How easy in hind sight to see the er-of your ways of earlier decision. But, to be sure the dreams once had and gone away can still come back another day. So, dreams like air are always around just waiting for us;Jump on board let your heart take flight and I'll live them later this night.
